While I was partying all through the early 90s, my love for house and techno didn't truly begin until my first trip to Montreal.
Growing up between Montreal and NYC, we could head either way to check out our favorite DJs. While I love NYC, Montreal was a whole different world for me.
During the late 90s and early 2000s, I was lucky enough to find clubs like Sona, Stereo, and Aria. Inside every weekend I could listen to my "heroes". The dudes that were on my Global Underground CDs. Sasha, Digweed, Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez, and more were on the bill every time I headed north.
Sure, you could see these guys in NYC, but I always had such an amazing time in Montreal. Each weekend was an adventure. I miss these wild days of clubbing in Montreal and hope to be back soon.
Anyways, I decided to pull some of my all-time favorites out of the collection for this mix. These are the tunes that helped me master beatmatching as you could mix them together for 3-4 mins easily.
